- This Facility is under 24 hour recorded video surveillance and member access card usage is logged and member consents to such surveillance
- Members may not bring in guests at any time without the prior written consent of the facility staff employed by the club. In the event that this policy is violated at the sole discretion of the facility management, member may be charged a guest fee and or have their membership suspended or canceled, the balance of the contract declared due and payable in full immediately and be assessed a penalty of up to $250.00. Members may not allow anyone else to use their access card and must alert the club immediately if their card is lost or stolen. Violating this policy carries the same penalties as violating the guest policy.
- Members who do not have their key access card will not be allowed into the facility during non-staffed nor should they expect for anyone else to let them into the facility.
- Personal training services provide in this facility may be provide either by employees or by independent contractors operation their own business, Regardless all payment of personal training services are to be made to the Fitness Edge Inc who will pay the trainers as the service are provided
- All members have access to a free orientation to the facility and the proper use of its equipment. It is member’s responsibility to request this orientation
- It is each member’s individual responsibility to wipe down the equipment and un-rack the weights they use.
- Members are hereby required to use any and all safely features of the club equipment. If a member is unsure of how to use any club equipment he or she should obtain instructions from the staff or personal trainers.
- Members are responsible for understanding how to operate the panic alarms and agree to use them only in case of an emergency
- Horseplay, vulgar language abuse or the equipment, working our while intoxicated or other inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated and my result in the suspension or cancellation of the offending member’s membership and the balance of the contract being declared due and payable in full immediately.
- Cell phones are not permitted in the cardio area. Use of photography and or video by members upon the premises of the club is prohibited
- Age requirements Persons under the age of 18 are not permitted in the club.
Equipment and Facilities Policies
Our club has many different types of equipment to help you achieve your fitness goals. When you complete your complementary Fitness Orientation with a professional trainer, you will be better understand how each piece of equipment works, and what to if you are unsure of how to work a piece of equipment. Please initial after each section to demonstrate that you understand the policy
Treadmills: Treadmills allow you to walk or run in place using a belt driven belt an internal motor. Before beginning a workout on a treadmill:
- Make sure the treadmill belt is stationary
- Make sure to tie your shoes, secure personal stereos and dangling jewelry
- Straddle the belt before programming your workout or starting the treadmill
- When finished be sure to let the belt come to a complete stop before dismounting
- NEVER attempt to mount a treadmill while the belt is running
BIKES
Bikes (both upright and recumbent work when you begin to pedal Before beginning a workout on a bike:
- Adjust your seat before beginning
- Use the foot straps to prevent slipping
- Make sure to tie your shoes, secure personal stereos and dangling jewelry
CROSSTRAINERS
Cross trainers (both upper and lower body) work when you begin to pedal. Before beginning a workout on a cross trainer:
- Make sure to tie your shoes, secure personal stereos and dangling jewelry
- Keep both feet on pedals while using
- Make sure pedals come to complete stop before dismounting
STRENGTH EQUIPMENT
All strength equipment is designed to perform a basic movement (e.g. chest press) Adjust the equipment for your size and range of movement. Before beginning a workout with our strength equipment:
- Adjust the seat to your appropriate level
- Adjust the weights to your appropriate level
- Secure all loose clothing, personal stereos and dangling jewelry
- Abide by all posted cautions and warning on the equipment
- Keep hands and feet away from weight stacks, moving parts and cables while in motion. Use appropriate hand and foot grips
- NEVER sacrifice proper form to lift more weight
- Never use equipment that appears to be malfunctioning
- Do not try to adjust or modify the equipment with add ional weights cables or the like
FREE WEIGHTS
Free weights are designed to give you total range of motion in a movement. Free weights include dumbbells. Barbells weight plates and racks. Before beginning a workout with our free weights;
- Secure all loose clothing personal stereos and dangling jewelry
- Adjust the weights to your appropriate level
- Abide by all posted cautions and warning on the equipment
- NEVER sacrifice proper form to lift more weight
- Never use equipment that appears to be malfunctioning
- Always lift with a spotter
- Never drop or throw weights when finished. Weights on the floor present a tripping hazard
SECURITY
The club is under 24 hour surveillance. Whether you are working out, entering/leaving the building/restrooms your activities are recorded. This video system is used for security purposes. The surveillance system does not protect you from harm in or on the building premises. You must use caution when entering or leaving the building. Do not allow access to individuals who knock on the door, doing so may put you at risk of injury or harm and could result in you losing your membership privileges. The Fitness Edge will monitor a live stream from its Meredith location and record each day’s activities.
RESTROOMS AND SHOWERS
The restroom has a bolt lock that should be used when you enter the restroom. The shower has a bolt lock that should be used when you enter the shower room.
Please use caution when entering using or leaving these areas as wet floors may cause slippage
SEVERE WEATHER
In case of severe weather please follow the club’s posted or stated emergency plan
INJURY AND FIRST AID
In the event that you or another individual becomes injured:
- For minor injuries (cuts abrasions, etc.) a first aid kit is located on the workout floor
- For serious injuries that need medical treatment dial 911
- Report all injuries to the club by call the number posted in the club
POWER OUTAGE
The door to the club has a fail safe which will allow you to exit the club without power to the door strike. There are also emergency exit lights allowing you to see in case of a power outage
FIRE
In the event of a fire or if you smell or see smoke, exit the building immediately Call 911 immediately form a cell phone or business nearby.
MISCELLANEOUS
